Local help with bathroom and hallway sun tunnel installation in Portobello
A dark room or a faulty daylight tube needs advice based on the roof above it. For bathroom and hallway sun tunnel installation in Portobello, submit one enquiry to hear from up to four independent specialists, subject to local availability.
Sun tunnels can bring daylight to windowless bathrooms, en-suites, WCs, hallways and landings when there is a suitable route above. Bathroom work needs attention to moisture and the ceiling seal; a hallway installation needs a diffuser position that spreads light where people actually walk.
Problems and projects to discuss in Portobello
- A bathroom relies on electric light throughout the day.
- An en-suite feels enclosed despite a recent refit.
- A long landing or internal hallway has a particularly dark central section.
What the specialist may inspect and carry out
- Plan the diffuser position around the room’s layout and the route available above it.
- Check the existing bathroom extraction and discuss moisture management separately from daylight.
- Choose insulation and sealing details suited to the selected daylighting system.
- Check ceiling cables and pipework, protect bathroom fittings and install the roof and tube components.
- Complete the weatherproofing and ceiling seals, then confirm any finishing or electrical tasks.
A standard sun tunnel is not an extractor fan. Optional ventilation or electric light kits are product-specific and need separate specification. Electrical additions should be handled by a competent person, with the applicable bathroom and building requirements checked.
