Compare bathroom and hallway sun tunnel installation quotes in Fowey
A useful quotation should explain the proposed work as well as its price. For bathroom and hallway sun tunnel installation in Fowey, submit one enquiry to hear from up to four independent specialists, subject to local availability.
Sun tunnels can bring daylight to windowless bathrooms, en-suites, WCs, hallways and landings when there is a suitable route above. Bathroom work needs attention to moisture and the ceiling seal; a hallway installation needs a diffuser position that spreads light where people actually walk.
Reasons to arrange an assessment in Fowey
- A bathroom relies on electric light throughout the day.
- An en-suite feels enclosed despite a recent refit.
- A long landing or internal hallway has a particularly dark central section.
What to ask the installer to include
- Plan the diffuser position around the room’s layout and the route available above it.
- Check the existing bathroom extraction and discuss moisture management separately from daylight.
- Choose insulation and sealing details suited to the selected daylighting system.
- Check ceiling cables and pipework, protect bathroom fittings and install the roof and tube components.
- Complete the weatherproofing and ceiling seals, then confirm any finishing or electrical tasks.
A standard sun tunnel is not an extractor fan. Optional ventilation or electric light kits are product-specific and need separate specification. Electrical additions should be handled by a competent person, with the applicable bathroom and building requirements checked.
What affects the quotation in Fowey
The indicative service range is £550–£1,600. Use it as a starting allowance rather than a fixed local price. The route, materials and access arrangements affect the final figure. Confirm VAT, waste disposal and ceiling making-good before agreeing the work.
Checking the requirements for your home
Check property-specific requirements before work starts. Rules depend on the work and the UK nation, with additional considerations for listed buildings and protected areas. Contact Cornwall Council for guidance on your property. The Planning Portal provides an introduction for England. Routine repairs and alterations can have different requirements; avoid assuming every replacement is exempt.

For a home in Fowey, will a bathroom sun tunnel replace an extractor fan?
No. A standard sun tunnel supplies daylight rather than extraction. Keep suitable bathroom ventilation, and discuss any compatible ventilation accessory and electrical work separately with the installer.

The guide range is £550–£1,600. The actual price depends on the specification, roof condition, access and any additional finishing or repair work. Ask for a written quotation confirming VAT and exclusions.
Will I get four quotes for a property in Fowey?
You may receive up to four quotations from independent specialists. The number depends on your postcode, the work requested and local installer availability.
Who can advise on permissions in Fowey?
Ask Cornwall Council about the proposed work and your property. Requirements vary with the project, location and any protected status, so do not assume that every sun tunnel alteration is exempt.
